The Collective Cure
The Collective Cure
On 28 August 2026, BloomWell Collective brought women together in London for The Collective Cure: Women’s Voices, Shared Wellbeing & the Art of Being Present, an evening of honest conversation, lived experience and meaningful connection.
The evening centred on the art of being present: creating the time and space to listen to women’s voices, share experiences and reflect on the things that shape our wellbeing
Our Panelist
An Evening Built Around Honest Conversation
The evening brought together women from different backgrounds and stages of life to explore emotional wellbeing, the pressures women carry and the role community can play in helping us navigate them.
At the centre of the evening was a panel conversation with (Left to Right)
Dr Charlotte Buttercase, Maryam Javaid and Saira Arif
who brought different professional and personal perspectives to the discussion.Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
What We Learned About Collective Care
1. Knowing You Are Not Alone Matters
One of the strongest messages we heard was how important it is for women to hear the experiences of other women. Sometimes the value of community is simply discovering that something you thought you were navigating alone is being experienced by someone else too.Being heard does not necessarily remove the challenge, but it can change how someone experiences it. There is comfort in knowing that another person understands, and there is power in being able to say something out loud without having to explain or justify why it matters.2. Vulnerability Can Create Space for More Vulnerability
We also learned that creating a safe space is about more than bringing people into the same room. People need to feel that honesty is welcome. When speakers were willing to talk openly about their own experiences, it helped create permission for others to reflect on and talk about theirs.3. Women Do Not Have to Carry Everything Alone
Another important conversation centred on the mental load women carry. Women often find themselves managing not only their own responsibilities, but also remembering, organising, anticipating and taking responsibility for the needs of everyone around them.Even where support is available, letting go can be difficult.
During the discussion, one simple question captured this:
“You know you don’t have to do it all alone?”
It is a simple statement, but an important one.
Collective care cannot only be about teaching women how to become better at coping with everything placed upon them. It must also give women permission to ask for help, share responsibility, set boundaries and recognise that strength does not have to mean doing everything themselves
“It’s the speakers that actually open the space up for people to be vulnerable because they’re vulnerable themselves.”
What Collective care means to us
The Collective Cure reinforced something that sits at the heart of BloomWell Collective: care does not always begin when someone reaches crisis.
Sometimes care begins with a conversation.
Sometimes it is hearing another woman’s story and recognising yourself in it.
Sometimes it is listening to an experience completely different from your own and leaving with greater empathy.
Sometimes it is someone reminding you that you do not have to carry everything alone.
And sometimes it is simply being given a space where you can speak honestly and know that someone is listening.
BloomWell’s approach is centred on preventative wellbeing, peer connection and culturally grounded spaces that strengthen belonging and emotional wellbeing.
The Collective Cure brought that idea to life.
It reminded us that women do not only need services. We need spaces to connect. We need opportunities to hear one another. We need conversations that allow us to question the expectations we carry. And we need communities where asking for support is not treated as weakness.
“Hearing from other people’s experiences opens up your mind to be more empathetic and understanding of other people’s experiences.”
The Conversation Continues
The Collective Cure may have lasted one evening, but the conversations it opened are much bigger.
At BloomWell Collective, we will continue creating preventative spaces where women can connect, speak openly, learn from one another and feel supported before challenges become crises.
Because no woman should have to carry everything alone.
